Jason has been studying medieval martial arts with a focus on the German longsword since 2008. Prior to his training at the Academy of Arms, he practiced Taekwondo before eventually transitioning to Kempo Karate and Jujitsu during his college years.
During his time at the Academy of Arms, Jason has earned the top student ranking and has progressed to the position of Instructor. Currently, he is a regular Instructor for Novice and Apprentice level classes. In addition to his role as a teacher, he has headed KdF (Kunst des Fechtens) foot combat demonstration teams for the Tournament of the Phoenix.
While martial arts have been a major pursuit in Jason's life for more than 30 years, he is also a certified Scuba diver and has dived off the coasts of California, Mexico and Thailand. He has a strong interest in the community and has volunteered his time to the Opportunity Shop, a non-profit organization dedicated to disadvantaged children.
Professionally, Jason is a freelance designer, working on projects ranging from Oscar sets to trade show booths and restaurants - pretty much anything that can be sat upon, worked on or otherwise occupied. He has also taught college classes for AutoCAD and 3D modeling/animation. Jason has a five-year architecture degree from the University of Kentucky. |
